When my older son began kindergarten, he was very withdrawn and socially immature. He struggled with expressing his emotions and having self -control. I have to say that with the support from this learning environment and especially with the help of his EP, Mary Leeds; the changes in him have been extraordinary.
My son was shown patience, kindness, and attention in ways that show that he was known and understood. He is now confident, outgoing, and self-disciplined. This is evidence that The Learning Choice Academy focuses not only on a child’s academic learning, but in their emotional intelligence also.
I am grateful that they do not have a “one size fits all” learning approach. I believe that is why he feels comfortable in learning and is doing so well academically. You can understand why I am so grateful for the Learning Choice Academy.
TLC is far more personal [than our previous school], the teachers provide a lot of support to both parents and students. They give clear direction on their expectations and are readily available to help you and the student all along the way. We can email their teachers and get a response by the end of the day.
TLC is not easy by any means, it’s challenging, but students are given more flexibility to go at their own pace while still meeting deadlines and academic standards. TLC allows each student to learn and thrive.
When our daughter was old enough to go to school, my husband and I worried about what school she could go to. We did not want to put her in an environment where she would be misunderstood - or worse, mistreated - by teachers and staff.
An acquaintance of mine told me about TLC. I went to an orientation for new parents, and liked what I heard and saw. After a brief discussion, my husband and I decided to enroll our daughter, and we're so glad we did!
Everyone here is so nice. The teachers and staff care about all of the students and their families, and they go above and beyond to assist them in any way they can. My daughter made her first and best friend here.
I also like the way they structure the curriculum -- you have your choices, to a degree, of what you teach your child. You have some control. This is the best school ever, and I would tell any parent to enroll their children here.
We have partnered with TLC since my son was in Kindergarten. We absolutely LOVE them and their philosophies. The class sizes are small. The teachers know (by name) students from all over the school.
