School Safety

School safety is a primary concern for us all. We want our schools to be an environment where students are focused on learning and school activities. Below are some of the ways we ensure the safety of our school community.

Staff Training

Each year, all staff undertake a series of mandated trainings through Vector Solutions that cover a wide range of topics specifically relevant to school employees. In addition, staff are trained in CPR and First Aid.

Parent Notifications

Parents are notified via ParentSquare any time a school-wide incident occurs.

School Safety Plans

Each school site has an established safety plan in place. You can contact the School Site Administrator for your respective site if you would like more detailed information.

Emergency Preparedness

As a school, we practice drills every month. They consist of fire, earthquake, bomb threat, lockdown, and active shooter drills. Drills are practiced Monday through Friday on a variety of days and times in order to ensure that all community members are prepared for an emergency situation.

Example Drill Schedule:

  • August- Fire drill
  • September- Fire drill, active shooter drill
  • October- Fire drill, earthquake drill
  • November- Fire drill
  • January- Fire Drill, lockdown drill
  • February- Fire drill, bomb threat drill
  • March- Fire drill, active shooter drill
  • April- Fire drill, lockdown drill
  • May- Fire drill
