We are excited to be back on campus and return to in-person learning for our Hybrid Program students. Safety protocols include frequent hand sanitation, wearing masks while indoors, and adhering to social distancing when possible.
For detailed information, please reference our Safe Return to School plan, School Guidance Checklist, and CAL-OSHA COVID-19 Prevention Plan.
We recognize that this pandemic is still a fluid situation, and are continuously monitoring local, state, and federal advisories to ensure that we balance health and safety with students’ educational needs. Thank you for your continued partnership with The Learning Choice Academy!

Is TLC requiring vaccinations for students and staff?
TLC is following county and state requirements regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. TLC staff submitted proof of vaccination or are required to test weekly. At this time, students are not required to have the COVID-19 vaccination. Should the vaccination become required for Hybrid Program students, there is the option to homeschool with TLC.
Is TLC offering on-site testing for students and staff?
Unvaccinated staff participates in weekly antigen testing. TLC is not offering antigen testing for students at this time. Students can receive testing from their doctor or from a free San Diego County testing facility. You can also call 2-1-1 for COVID-19 assistance and information.
What is TLC's mask policy?
Students and staff are required to wear masks indoors.
Is TLC participating in field trips and events?
Yes, TLC is participating in field trips and events and following the venue's COVID-19 protocols.
Can parents volunteer on campus?
At this time, TLC is not allowing volunteers. Our goal is to minimize any potential risks of exposure.
Has anyone tested positive for COVID-19 at our school?
If a student or staff member is confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, the public health department will notify the school district and/or everyone who may have had contact with that person and ask those contacts to self-isolate until they are known be symptom-free. Notifications will only be shared with our school community for confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus. Please continue to follow the general health advice from state and local officials to protect yourself, your family, and your community.
How do I know when my student can return to campus due to a COVID-19 confirmed case or close contact exposure?
Your school site administrator and office manager can assist you. The timeline is based on San Diego County's COVID-19 Decision Tree (updated November 5, 2021). Click here for the e-Decision Tree, a digital representation of the San Diego County COVID-19 K-12 Decision Tree.
What are the CDC's updated five-day quarantine guidelines?
The CDC just updated its quarantine guidelines. You can view them at this link. The highlights are as follows:
  1. People who test positive should isolate for 5 days and, if asymptomatic at that time, they may leave isolation if they can continue to mask for 5 days to minimize the risk of infecting others.
  2. CDC is updating the recommended quarantine period for those exposed to COVID-19. For people who are unvaccinated or are more than six months out from their second mRNA dose (or more than 2 months after the J&J vaccine) and not yet boosted, CDC now recommends quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days.
  3. Individuals who have received their booster shot do not need to quarantine following an exposure, but should wear a mask for 10 days after the exposure.
How can I get a digital copy of my COVID-19 vaccine status?
Visit this link to enter a few details to get a link to a QR code and digital copy of your COVID-19 vaccination record. If you want to share your proof of vaccination, you can use either the electronic version you’ll get from the portal or the card you were given at the time of vaccination. If you are a parent or guardian and have multiple vaccine records associated with a single mobile phone number or email address, enter each digital vaccine record request separately.
